Sunsets

My teacher has been sick this past week, so I've been working closely with her aide, Ms. Lima. It's been a wonderful experience for me because I've been able to jump right in with planning and classroom discipline. On Wednesday after school, we met at Ipanema beach with some friends that we'd met on the plane ride over. The beach get's very cold at night, but the sunset was beautiful coming down over the mountains! With our friends, we explored the city of Copacabana where they are staying and discovered our first kilo restaurant. A kilo restaurant is like a buffet where they charge you by weighing your food by the kilo. Extras like the grill or sushi bar also get weighed but cost more per kilo. One of the guys told us about how he almost got pick pocketed twice by the same person at a bar they went to. That just goes to show how careful and aware we have to be here!
